Installation Guide

Connect StreamCart to Shopify

Find StreamCart in the App Store

Go to the Shopify App Store and search for "StreamCart". Click the app listing to open it.

Click "Add app" and authorize

Click "Add app". Shopify will prompt you to authorize the required permissions. Click "Install app" to confirm.

Product catalog syncs automatically

StreamCart reads your Shopify product catalog via the Admin API. No manual import needed.

Verify the sync

Open the StreamCart dashboard, navigate to Products, and confirm your products appear.

Create widgets and associate videos

In the dashboard, create a widget, upload or link your videos, and map them to products.

Widgets appear automatically

No code needed. StreamCart injects the embed script into your storefront automatically.

Theme-specific Notes

Shopify 2.0 themes

Go to Online Store → Customize → Add section → StreamCart. The app block will appear in the section picker, giving you full drag-and-drop placement control.

Vintage / non-2.0 themes

The app automatically injects the embed script into your theme.liquid file before </head>. No manual edits are needed.

If your theme restricts script injection, use the manual snippet below.

Manual Installation

Add the embed script manually

Copy your Project ID from the StreamCart dashboard under Settings → Project. Paste the snippet below before </head> in your theme.liquid.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and fixes

Products are not syncing

Ensure StreamCart has the read_products scope. Go to your Shopify Partners dashboard → App → Permissions and confirm. Re-install the app if permissions were recently updated.

Widget does not appear on product pages

Check that your theme is Shopify 2.0. For vintage themes, verify that theme.liquid was not customized to block third-party scripts. Clear your browser cache.

App was installed but dashboard shows no store

Disconnect and reconnect the app from Settings → Integrations → Shopify in the StreamCart dashboard. This re-establishes the OAuth token.
